Gelweave is Vascutek’s gelatin-sealed woven polyester vascular prosthesis for thoracic and abdominal aortic replacement and peripheral reconstruction. The woven construction gives low porosity and high burst strength; gelatin impregnation makes the graft impermeable at implantation without pre-clotting and is resorbed within about 14 days as tissue incorporation begins. Available straight, bifurcated, Valsalva (sinus-shaped for valve-sparing root replacement), Plexus (four-branch arch) and Anteflo.
